| St. Pius X Conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society is aggregated to the International Society of St. Vincent de Paul, but is independently administerer by members of our Parish. Our outreach is performed in anonymity as our work with those in need is on a strictly confidential basis. The Conference meets twice monthly, for spiritual renewal and to oversee the service performed
by individual members. Individual help is provided by a team of two, rotating on a weekly basis, by personal contact with those in need in their own homes. In addition to active membership, we are assisted in various aspects of our work by
associate members. In addition to spiritual support the Conference provides limited material or financial assistance to meet short-term crisis needs, supplemented by referral assistance to appropriate civic and charitable
agencies. It operates a Salvage Ministry (storing and distributing clothing, furniture, appliances and similar household goods), as well as a Personal Care Ministry (providing new hygiene products, religious books and
pamphlets, bibles, and miscellaneous items), and provides a monthly dinner to residents at Prince George’s County Men’s Shelter. It twins with a Catholic Church in Vladivostok Russia, providing assistance with their charitable work.

Mission Statement:
We seek in a spirit of justice and charity and by person-to-person
involvement of our volunteer members, to help those who are needy and suffering.
It is not necessary to be poor to be needy at any given moment, so we serve in a
special way first those brothers and sisters of our parish family that need our
help. We serve also all within our Parish boundaries. No work of charity is
foreign to our people. It encompasses every form of aid that alleviates
suffering and promotes the dignity and integrity of mankind. Profoundly
religious in motivation, this help is on the basis of need, not creed. This
parish service is based on sharing Jesus’ healing love and presence with those
in need, and in giving of ourselves, we receive from those we serve a closer
relationship to Christ. We see in the poor the face of Jesus, and His love in
their hearts.
